The Department of Computer Science at Ithaca College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, starting August 2026. We seek a dynamic teacher-scholar committed to undergraduate education and to contributing to the continued evolution of our collaborative and forward-looking computer science program. Applicants from all areas of computer science are welcome, with particular encouragement for those specializing in artificial intelligence, human-computer interaction, media-focused computation, computer systems, or cybersecurity. Our department emphasizes small class sizes, close faculty-student collaboration, and project-based learning. Faculty are empowered to take initiative, contribute to shared governance, and help guide the direction of the department. We pride ourselves on a strong culture of collegiality and consensus-driven decision-making.

Ithaca College supports a healthy work-life balance and provides resources for both teaching and research, including startup and travel funding, internal grant programs, and the Summer Scholars undergraduate research initiative. Our facilities include dedicated research spaces, active-learning classrooms, and spacious faculty offices co-located with our classrooms.
Teaching load for computer science faculty is 2-2/3-2 (2 courses per semester one year and 3/2 courses the following year). We welcome candidates who are enthusiastic about inclusive, student-centered teaching, engaged scholarship, and contributing to a vibrant academic community grounded in the liberal arts.

🗓️ Review of applications begins October 13, 2025 and later applications may be considered as well.
